FOOD: Spritz Restaurant and Bar
Spritz is a family friendly restaurant, directly on the Sandyport canal waterway. Spritz offers great views and the menu is varied, the staff are also friendly and attentive. The pizza is excellent, I can’t resist a good crispy thin crust pizza. On this visit I decided to try something other than pizza & my group ended up ordering appetizers, pasta, risotto & desserts.
What I ate:
Appetizers: Bruchetta, Calamari Fritti & Garlic Bread
Mains: Italian risotto, Penne Portobello & linguine Al Salmone
Dessert: Lemon Cheesecake, Tiramisu & Brownie Ala Mode
Out of all of the appetizers we had the bruchetta was my favorite, this version had feta on top (one of my faves). The calamari & garlic bread are basic dishes you can get at most restaurants and these two dishes offered nothing special.
On to the mains, the three of these dishes were flavorful and offered generous portions. My only complaint is that the risotto was a bit underdone. The flavors were there but it wasn’t the silky, smooth texture that I love in a good risotto. The linguine Al Salmon had a generous portion of salmon, I enjoyed the sauce and the saffron added a unique taste to this dish. The Penne Portobello was simple and done well. I loved the big pieces of Portobello mushroom paired with the creamy gorgonzola sauce, delicious.
I have zero complaints about the desserts, they were all delicious! So, so good. The lemon cheesecake was light, sweet & tart; the perfect combination. The tiramisu was very light and all of the flavors complimented each other well. None of them were overpowering which can happen quite easily with a delicate dessert like this. The good old faithful brownie was rich and gooey and pair perfectly with the vanilla ice cream.
Overall my friends and I had a great time & we were pleased with the food and service. I would recommend stopping by for happy hour, having a few drinks and ordering up some food to top off a good evening. Although we didn’t have pizza on this visit, I have had Spritz pizza before and it is GOOD. I can’t resist a good thin crust pizza.

I love the atmosphere here.If you sit on the high chairs you can see and feed the fish and turtles in the waterway.
