Weekend Getaway to Exuma: Sugar Adventure Company
Sugar Adventure Company:
You can find Sugar Adventure Company on facebook and see photos and reviews from past and present tours and excursions. You can also find all the information you need to contact them and book your tours.
If you are in Exuma for a short time and want to cover a lot of ground, this tour is a great way to fit in a ton of activities in a short period of time. I had so much fun on this tour I didn’t want it to end. It is something I would do again in a heartbeat.
A tour of The Exuma Cays is a definite MUST DO in my book.
We chose a full day tour, which lasted 9 hours. This seems like a long time but you are having so much fun the time just flies by.
The Boat:Â
The boat is very spacious and has ample seating for everyone onboard to sit comfortably.
There are areas for you to store your bags and shoes if needed.
Drinks and fruit are provided and if you wish you can bring some snacks of your own on board. Sugar also provides snorkeling gear in case you want to get off and explore below on a few of the stops and of course The Thunderball Grotto.
The Tour:Â
On the tour we got to see Iguanas, Starfish, dive for conch, visit the swimming pigs, the famous Musha Cay sand bar, Staniel Cay Yacht Club for lunch, Compass Cay to swim with the sharks and snorkel Thunderball Grotto but that is not all you get to see.
Sugar takes his time and points out every little detail, he tells you about the celebrity homes you are passing, the names of the different cays and what they are known for and also some history about Exuma and the Cays.
At each stop you are given time to explore, relax and just take it all in. I never felt rushed.
You will be tired when it is over, but you will be amazed at what you can see in just 9 hours.
Check some pictures from the day tour below.
Have you ever visited Exuma before? What did you do while you were there?

I did this tour also with Sugar.it was an exciting and amazing tour..it is well worth the money spent. In addition to all the items listed, if it is calm you can dive for conchs to make conch salad. While enjoying the sand bar Sugar makes fresh conch salad from the conch that as dove up and serves it with his homemade chilled fruit or rum punch..what a treat. I will do it again and I highly recommend Sugar Adventures.

The sandbar looks like a nice place to relax until high tide.

After walking the whole thing, it is nice to lay in the shallow water and let the waves lap over you. Truly relaxing. Almost an other worldly experience.

I think every Bahamian should do an Exuma tour at least once in their lives. It’s like experiencing a ton of different islands in one trip.

I’ve been to Exuma but never had the opportunity to explore due to the time constraints. Is this tour available for a day trip from Nassau or is this something that I have to travel and stay in Exuma for? It sounds like a lot of fun and definitely something on my bucket list. That water though!!!

This is something you would need more than a day in Exuma to do, the tour is 9 hours or more. But if you go of for a weekend it’s something you can pull off and have enough time to still rest, relax and enjoy the rest of Exuma.
